By the end of the session, he had completely relaxed into being himself. When Jessy later told me that the photographs felt like him—natural, comfortable and genuine—it reminded me why I photograph this way. Children don't need to perform. They simply need the space to be themselves.

This year, for the first time, I offered cherry blossom photoshoots at Gloeilampplantsoen in Strijp S, Eindhoven. It is such a special little spot, especially during blossom season. I feel lucky to have had some beautiful souls in front of my camera, and so glad that I could create something meaningful during this short season.
